Then comes season 2. I was a bit confused as to why Kaneki suddenly wants to join Aogiri tree but I rolled with it. Season 2 was pretty good and a bunch of characters were introduced which to be honest, I don't remember half their names especially the people from CCG. I can kind of see why people called season 2 a bit rushed now, during the raid on Cochlea, Kaneki fights some guy called Shachi and gets destroyed by him, even though for a couple episodes I thought Kaneki was close to being the top dog. It seems like his regeneration slowed down ten fold as at the end of season 1 he recovers from his broken leg in like 2 seconds. I had no idea what was happening when I was watching, but Kaneki starts freaking out and next thing you know he's a Kakuja or something, then they get saved by the owl. Fast forward and Eto rats out Antique and there's a big attack on the Owl. Toka is running for about 3 episodes, whilst Koma and Irimi are getting their ass handed to them by some mid level CCG despite being SS rated, and you've got Kaneki, who I'd assume is like SS+ at this time because he dominated the dudes who Irimi was fighting, stalemating with Amon somehow, and he ends up at the cafe with Hide.
