| January 15, 2010 | | Comments count: 0 2. 11 Unearthed It's an accepted fact of modern media, I guess, that Fox TV is the dumbest network out there, even with the ongoing NBC Leno/Conan dance of disaster. Fox do things on occasion that entirely defy belief, like those in control of scheduling have no idea that people watch the shows or might be mystified by their utterly stupid choices. The show that got the visitation from the angel of confusion this week was Fringe, a show that Fox has previously damaged before with long gaps in the episode run. If you tuned in then you'd have been greeted this week with an 'all new Fringe' called Unearthed. Well, I say 'all new', but very quickly after the shock opening I got entirely flummoxed when long dead Charlie Francis appeared alive and well! For a moment, I wondered if the station had screened the wrong episode and that I'd seen this one before. I hadn't, but Unearthed was, in fact, the 21st episode of season 1, which, for whatever wackadoo reason, Fox decided to keep in the can.

Un grande Nicholas Cage come non se ne vede uno da un bel pò. Bravissima Laura Dern (che ricorderò sempre per averla conosciuta in Jurassic Park ahahah! ). Da notare quanti attori legati a Lynch ci sono, a parte William DaFoe troviamo molti personaggi visti in "Twin Peaks" (tra cui Sheryl Lee, Grace Zabriskie e Sherilyn Fenn! ) Un bel 7, nonostante non sia tra i miei preferiti di Lynch. Qui abbiamo Nicholas Cage scapestrato romanticone (ruolo che fa il paio con quello in Arizona Junior dei Coen) e una deliziosamente goosy Laura Dern, attrice straordinaria di eccezionale espressività, troppo sottovalutata. Ruolino bomba per il villanissimo Willem Defoe.

E Katniss scegliera? finalmente tra Peeta e Gale? di Alessia Laudati Il capitolo finale di un franchise che ha avuto il merito di lanciare definitivamente la carriera di Jennifer Lawrence e rinnovare il genere young adult con tematiche violente, cupe e decisamente fantacientifiche - altro insomma che romanticismo ad ogni costo, in Hunger Games la società è un posto orribile e classista - è un'occasione senza precedenti per concludere con ritmo molti degli archi narrativi dei personaggi iconici della saga cinematografica. Ebbene, qualcosa in questa seconda parte dell'ultimo episodio soffre eccessivamente di ripetitività, di narrazione allungata per arrivare alla circa due ore e un quarto di pellicola, sacrificando su questa via anche una bella scena finale di azione.
