Based on the true story of the Beltway sniper attacks in Washington, D. C. and Virginia in 2002, Blue Caprice debuted at Sundance this year to strong reviews. The film will be released in select US cinemas next month, and given a VOD release a few days later, and Apple have launched the first full-length trailer to whet the appetite. Inspired by true events, BLUE CAPRICE investigates the notorious and horrific Beltway sniper attacks from the point of view of the two perpetrators, whose distorted father-son relationship facilitated their long and bloody journey across America. Marked by captivating performances by Isaiah Washington and Tequan Richmond, lyrical camerawork, and a unique and bold structure, BLUE CAPRICE documents the mechanisms that lead its subjects to embrace physical violence. BLUE CAPRICE paints a riveting portrait of 21st-century America and a haunting depiction of two cold-blooded killers that endures long after the lights come up. Isaiah Washington leads the cast, with the early reviews in particular pointing to his performance as the cornerstone of the film's impact.

And starring alongside him is Tequan Richmond, Tim Blake Nelson, Joey Lauren Adams, and Leo Fitzpatrick. Alexander Moors makes his directorial debut with the film, directing from a script he co-wrote with past collaborator R. F. I. Porto. Blue Caprice will be released in the US on September 13 th, with its VOD bow on September 17 th. No word on a UK release date, and given the independent nature of the film, this may well be one we'll have to wait for on DVD/Blu-ray.
